Sourcing Lead BESS (EPC Tendering)

The Role

As Sourcing Lead BESS, you will take full ownership of the tender process for selecting battery suppliers across our projects. Rather than working from predefined briefs, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to define what’s needed to run a strong and effective tender.

You translate project requirements into clear specifications, set up and manage RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes, and guide each tender from initiation through to completion.

You assess and compare supplier proposals across both technical performance and commercial terms, distilling your findings into a clear and well-supported shortlist. Based on your recommendations, selected suppliers move into the next phase. Once exclusive negotiations begin, you hand over to the contracting team.

Beyond managing tenders, you play a key role in structuring and professionalizing the sourcing function within GIGA Storage. You work closely with stakeholders such as the Director of Construction and Head of Engineering, and report to the Director of Project Development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end tender processes for full-wrap EPC BESS solutions

• Define requirements and engage the market through RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes

• Evaluate and compare bids across technical, commercial, and risk dimensions

• Develop well-founded shortlists and ensure smooth handover to the contracting team

What You Bring

• Proven experience independently managing tender or bid processes

• Experience with EPC contracts in complex technical projects (essential)

• Background in infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret both technical and commercial data

• A proactive and structured way of working

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus

Nice to Have

• Experience in the energy sector or with BESS projects

• Familiarity with or experience working with Chinese suppliers
