Head of IT Security (CISO)

As Head of Cybersecurity (CISO), you will play a critical role in building and managing a robust security platform for GIGA Storage in the Netherlands. You will have the opportunity to design and implement IT security from scratch, safeguarding both IT and OT (Operational Technology) landscapes. This hands-on role combines strategic vision with operational expertise, ensuring our infrastructure adheres to the highest security standards. You will be the driving force behind our cybersecurity strategy, ensuring compliance, fostering collaboration between IT and our operational parties.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy for the in-house developed IT platforms, with a focus on designing security from the ground up.

• Ensure the protection of our corporate IT infrastructure, OT systems on-site at the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and contractual agreements with third parties regarding cybersecurity.

• Perform compliance and IT security tasks, working closely with partners to meet regulatory requirements.

• Monitor and manage security measures, responding effectively to incidents.

• Collaborate with internal and external teams to maintain a secure and innovative environment while independently managing key projects.

What You Bring

• A proven track record of securing IT platforms, combined with a strategic vision on modern IT security measures. E.g previous experience as CISO, Head of IT Security or senior IT security specialist in dynamic, growing organization.

• Roll up your sleeves as this role requires both hands-on experience and strategic thinking. You need to be able to operate independently, so bringing enough security experience to the table is crucial.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to C-level management, and technical and non-technical audiences.

• Knowledge of cloud security, API security, and secure software development practices. Knowledge of Python, MySQL, and GCP is a plus.

• Experience with Operational Technology (OT) or industrial systems is a plus.
